OCTOBER 2009
The third quarter of 2009 is history. Where has the time gone. September was a good month for us here in Mexico City. We continued services, English classes, Kids club, and Ladies meeting. Attendance was down a little bit, but we know where everyone was.
The highlight of September was our celebration of Mexican Independence Day on the 15th. We had a fellowship time at the church with 25 in attendance. Families from our English classes, Kids Club, and the mission joined together to fellowship and celebrate in a fun and safe manner. Everyone seemed to have a great time and it was a great way to introduce the mission to several new families.
September was also spent planning our first attendance campaign. We are going fishing! However, we are fishing for men, women, and children. We are praying and hoping that through these 6 weeks we will get acquainted with many new folks and that many of them will come to Christ.
In September, 3 people graduated from the Bible Institute, Colegio Bautista Latinoamericana. This is a ministry overseen by missionary Edwin Hoagland that we are trying to support as well. One of the graduates, Abraham Aguila, will bepreaching for us in Tlahuac on October 18th. Please pray that we will have a good day and that people will respond to the Gospel.
We are still praying about renting the location next to ours. This would allow us to have a place for a children's church ministry apart from the adults. We are wanting all of the members of the mission to participate in this decision so they will take ownership in the financial responsibilities associated with the decision. At this point we are still praying for a lower price and more members to make this financially possible. We feel it would be a good "next step" for the mission and the members seem to be in agreement. All we have to do now is wait for God's timing.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU to all who sent in extra in August and September, It was a great help. We have our new visas, and they're paid for, and we were also able to take care of the other special needs that came up. We want to give an extra special thank you to the folks in Honeydew, CA for their offering for the children's ministry. This will enable us to do a little extra with the Christmas play. Thanks to all for their support and sacrifice on our behalf.Looking forward to October, James will be starting a monthly
Men's breakfast to encourage the men and to introduce men to the mission. The first meeting will be on October 10th. James will be fixing pancakes so all that attend will be in for a treat.
October 25th will also be a special day. Not only will we celebrate 18 years of marriage, but we will have our first baptismal service. Tonny is inviting all of his family members and friends to attend this special service. Please pray that his unsaved loved ones will hear the gospel and respond.
Prayer Requests:
1. Attendance campaign:
Oct. 4 - Nov 8th
2. October 18th - special services
with Abraham Aguila
3. October 25th: Baptismal service
Pray for Tonny and his family
4. November 8th: Friend Day
5. People to respond to the gospel
and accept Christ.
As always, we are very thankful for your prayers and financial support. We know we couldn't be in Mexico City serving the Lord without your love for the lost and sacrificial giving to missions. Thank you for enabling us to serve the Lord in one of the largest cities in the world!Your partners in the harvest,
James, Lori, and Michael BradleyTaking the message of Salvation from the Heart of God to the Heart of Mexico
