OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
February has found us staying very busy. We have continued to teach the Saturday classes for the youth. This has been an exciting time for us as we are contributing to the outreach of the youth department. Every Saturday was blessed with young people accepting Christ as their personal Savior. What a joy to know that while we can’t do everything, we can have a part in what God is doing here in Mexico City.
February also gave us the opportunity to visit the services of the mission work in Coacalco. Jose and Yolanda Martinez are in charge of this work. Pastor Jose is doing a great job and Yolanda has the ladies organized with monthly meetings that started in January. They also are seeing folks saved. It was a blessing to be with them and worship with their great people.February is famous for Valentine’s Day. Here in Mexico this day is known as the day of love and friendship. We celebrated with
a special event for marriage. Iglesia Bautista de la Capital sponsored this banquet and it was attended by couples from 5 different churches. We had an oriental theme this year with a Korean church member helping with the food preparation. In all, there were 54 couples who attended and participated in the great games, fellowship, and encouragement from the Word of God. Bro. Hoagland brought a challenging message to all to keep their marriages a priority and to do those things we did when we were first dating/married.
OUR SPANISH IS IMPROVING!
James and Lori completed their third language class in February. James will be taking level 4 right away and Lori is going to wait until May to take her next class, Intermediate 1. Level 4 contained many new grammatical concepts and Lori feels that a time out from formal studies to absorb and apply what she has been taught will help her tremendously
PRAYER REQUESTS!
1. Continue to pray for Lori’s Bells Palsy. She has improved quite a bit, but is still not 100%
2. Monica and Gerrardo -Salvation
3. Safety as we travel
4. Pray for the national pastors of the mission works: Pastor Jose, Pastor Darío, Pastor David, and Pastor Hugo
5.Wisdom in planning our first church plant.
6.Preparations for summer camps and for multitudes of unsaved youth to come and accept Christ.
MICHAEL’S CORNER
Michael had a busy February also. He was the official photographer for the marriage event. He photographed every couple present.. The photos were later printed and framed for each couple and they all were so thankful for Michael and his talent. He has been taking ice skating lessons with the Christian school. The boys have been playing ice hockey and he thinks that is lots of fun.Taking the message of Salvation from the Heart of God to the Heart of Mexico
