Dear praying friends:

Greetings from the HOT and dry Midwest. July found us in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. We enjoyed getting to share our burden for the lost souls of Mexico City with churches in these states. Once again, we saw the Lord at work in the hearts of men and women as they considered their part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

The passing of July brought us one month closer to Mexico City. We are continuing to work on our Spanish, especially with Michael. We can tell he is picking it up (we are too!) and know that any language we acquire now will help us in our transition to Mexico. As a family, we are asking God to raise up an additional 30 supporting churches by November. We praise the Lord that we have now seen 4 of these churches make us a part of their missionary family. We have also seen some headway concerning the special needs we have to get to the field. Here is the updated list:

  1. Additional monthly support of $1000 - $1500 (26 more churches)

  2. Language School Costs: $2000 by January (covers James and Lori)

  3. Air purifier for home in Mexico City - $700 (rcvd $207)

  4. Passports - $267 (new requirement)

  5. Moving and set-up expenses on the field-$5000 ($1500 promised)

Our house is on the market and we are asking God to send us a buyer quickly. We are running an ad in the Dallas Morning News from August 3 – 13. Please pray with us that God will send the buyer to take care of this need. Again, thank you for your interest and concern in our ministry.

P.S. One special note about Michael. He entered 10 photographs in his first photo competition (Ozark Empire Fair Springfield, MO) The judging is complete and Michael walked away with three 1st place, three 2nd place, one 3rd place, and one 4th place ribbon. We know this is a milestone in his life.
