  • Official language: Spanish. (Many indigenous tribal languages are spoken as well.)

  • Government: A democratic federal republic
  • Size: 2 million square kilometers!

Mexico's Place in the World

  • Mexico has the fifth largest oil reserves in the world
  • Mexico's Gross National Product ranks 12th in the world.
  • Mexico is making strides in education: 99% of the population has primary education; 53% has secondary and 15% has higher education.
  • Mexico City, with a population approaching 10 million, is the largest city in the history of civilization.

Mexico's Need

  • There are over 40 Mexican cities with populations of over 100,000 people.
  • The Baptist Bible Fellowship has works in only a dozen or so of these cities.

  • Mexico City is the largest city in North America and second most populous conurbation in the world, after Tokyo, with approximately 26 million people.
