We have arrived in Oshawa,
Ontario! We were able to find a beautiful new home in a
brand new subdivision to rent, and it's only minutes from
the school where we meet as a church! God has blessed us
tremendously, and we're excited to get started on the work
He has for us to do here at Affinity.
We recently hosted two teen
groups to help with various activities in and around
Toronto. They were a blessing to us and to the churches we
were able to assist.
Next summer, 2007, we as a
church will be taking the teens here at Affinity on a
missions trip to Costa Rica. We are in the planning stages
now and will begin fundraising soon. Our teens are excited
about this opportunity to expand their relationship with
Christ and explore some future opportunities for themselves.
Summer has been a slow time
for us here at Affinity. To combat that, we're having a fall
kickoff service on September 17 at the school where we are
currently meeting. Please pray that as families return from
'holiday' that they will be looking for a new place to
worship. Pray for the new community where we live that we
can reach out to these families and present Christ to them.
Pray also that we will be a good testimony to the teachers,
principal and janitor (with whom we have the strongest
relationship) at the school where we meet so we can build a
relationship with them as well.
