January 2009

Happy New Year! We are so
thankful for what God has done through us in 2008, and look
forward to the many blessings and challenges that await us as we
serve Him in 2009. One of the things we are most grateful for
is your partnership and support of our ministry through prayer.
Thank you!
We had one of the best Christmas celebration seasons ever at
God's Way A Baptist Church. Each of the past 10 years we have
put on a children's Christmas program. Unfortunately, they have
been poorly attended by parents, including one year which
brought NO parents at all. Not this year! Praise the Lord, we
had over 50 in the audience! Still not many parents, but the
children loved the fact that some cared enough to come and
listen to them. They memorized Luke 2 and various songs to go
along with the verses, and did a terrific job of sharing the
Christmas story. We also had 2 more young teens accept Christ.
It seems that the long years of planting and watering are now
bearing fruit.
Bro. Jon Konnerup, Missions Director for the Baptist Bible
Fellowship encouraged us with a visit this month. We are
thankful for him and the staff of the BBFI who work so hard to
take care of our financial reports, taxes, and health insurance
so that we can concentrate on the work God has called us to do
here on the field. They are a blessing to us, and we appreciate
your prayers for them as they minister in special, necessary
ways to us.
The International Baptist Church was able to help a new church
in Lacovia, Jamaica with more than half of the purchase price of
their property. However, another one of our faithful families
is transferring out soon, and they will leave a large void in
our church family. Please pray that God will bring in new
people to take their place. We are also working with several
children in the Awana program that meets at the International
School of Kingston who are unsaved. Pray for the Holy Spirit to
work in their lives and the hearts of their parents as well.
