Melina LaneMelina was born and raised in Swartz Creek, Michigan, a suburb of Flint. Her father worked in an auto parts supply plant and her mother was a housewife. Melina was saved at the age of eight years old during a revival meeting at Trinity Baptist in Flushing, Michigan. Melina surrendered to full time service at the age of nineteen while she was a member of the College and Career department of Twin Cities Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan, where Rev. Ed Dinant was pastor. Melina graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1979 and then went to nearby Mott Community College. After a year at MCC, Melina went to Baptist Bible College East. Melina majored in elementary education and also took the missions courses. While in College, Melina taught Sunday School at the Faith Baptist Church in Dorchester. Later, she attended Temple Baptist Church in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where she took an active part in the nursing home ministry of that church. Melina graduated in 1984 and then moved to Baltimore to take a teaching position at the Calvary Baptist Academy. |
