The Reinholds South of the Border

M E X I C O

January 2004

Dear Pastor and friends,

As co-labors in Christ I would like to bring you up to date on the mission work here in Mexico. Thanks to your faithful prayers and generous giving, our new work in Altamira made a tremendous impact on our community this last month.

On December 23rd our house church with about 35 in attendance had a Christmas program that far exceeded our previous one. We moved the service to our house because our patio is larger than the one at the church. Preparations were made to accommodate 150 people. We prepared food, made up Christmas bags, and invited the neighbors to come hear the story of our Savior’s birth.

Before the program started the 150 rented seats were already filled. Our patio turned into standing room only as the program began. People just kept coming. We stopped counting as over 300 people passed through the gates to hear the program. Ultimately there was no more room. They filled up our children’s fort, several were sitting on top of the walls of our property and even standing outside the gate to catch a glimpse and hear the Christmas story told.

We were just amazed and awestruck at this tremendous turnout. On that day God poured out upon us a storehouse of blessings. Several accepted Christ, salvation tracts were passed out to those who came, and God in His way even extended our food supply so that all were fed. The only things extra we had to buy were plates and forks from the corner. What a mighty God we serve.

It was also a great opportunity for our members to be involved in serving and seeing the results of God’s faithfulness and blessings to those who do serve Him.

Again we want to thank every one of you for your prayers and ask for your continued effectual, fervent prayers concerning those who came that they will return or, when we arrive at their house to visit them, they will remember and give Christ a chance. Pray also for the construction needs of the church we are building for the members of New Life Baptist Church and the community they are faithfully trying to reach for Christ. The Lord willing, we pray this project will be finished before we go on furlough at the end of June.

If your church is interested in scheduling a date for us to report back to you please call, write or send an e-mail soon. May God richly bless you all this new year.

In the Potter's Hand,
The Reinholds
