Vacation Bible School

          During the week before Easter we took a team to Managua, Nicaragua to do an evangelism campaign and VBS. One of our goals was to teach the Managua church family “how to do” a VBS. It was exciting to see them eager to learn and take on leadership roles by the end of the week. We had an average of 106 kids for the week. After the closing program around 40 parents prayed to receive Christ.

          April we focused on the Managua church and had a great campaign while there. Over 500 prayed to receive Christ. We invited all those who would like to learn more about the church to a reception and was more than pleased when 325 came.
          May and June we have been working with the Lourdes church. We have been working hard on getting the church family to invite their friends and family to church. We held a special Mother’s Day event and three “grandma’s” prayed to receive Christ. By the time you receive this letter we will have held a special Father’s Day service as well.
          In June we also had a Medical/Evangelism campaign. We set up clinics in some or our smaller churches around San Salvador and saw over 1400 patients. Each one was given the gospel one on one and 300 prayed to receive Christ during the week.

New Ministry Opportunities

          Jeff has been teaching small group leaders, equipping them to teach to their small groups. Also, Jeff has been working with the different groups to get them to start evangelizing their neighborhoods. Paula has started a ladies Bible study in our home that meets once a week and Emily has been discipling a young lady named Maria José who was saved in January.

          Emily will begin college this fall at BBC. Please pray for her as she adjusts to being back in the States and for us as we will be “empty nesters.”
          Jeff will have his eye surgery Aug. 23 while we are back for a few weeks getting Emily moved in at school.
