Juntos Together 09

In July we had a team of 25 college students from the States come down and join a team of 40 Salvadoran students for a week mission trip and conference. Everyday we taught English on a college campus and spent our afternoons serving in orphanages, and other community activities. Each evening we held a bi-lingual conference challenging them to Live for the Cause...That Jesus is Lord and there is no other. It was a great week of revival and many students left with a great burden to be a witness on their college campus and some with open hearts of serving on the mission field.

August we took a team to Guatemala City to work with our church there. It was a great week of new opportunities. The Lord opened up the door for us to give our purity talk in a private High School. After the first afternoon the director wanted us to go to more schools and more classrooms. We have never gotten in a private school before so this was a huge open door. We gave the talks ending with the gospel and giving the students an opportunity to pray to receive Christ. We were in 60 classrooms and spoke to around 1500 students. Due to privacy we were not able to collect names but we saw many raise their hand indicating they had prayed.
We plan to go back to the private schools again to do talks on self-control to the younger children and use our time there to invite them and their families to VBS in November. Please pray this will be an open door in Guatemala to a community we are trying to reach.
In August Paula finished her first ladies bible study. Three ladies completed the study and now she has plans to begin two new studies this fall.

Family News

Jeff had his eye surgery and it seems to be healing up nicely. He is now able to see distances but will still need reading glasses. The Doctor told him he can expect to have the other eye done within the next 10 years.
We moved Emily to Springfield, MO and she has begun her freshman year at BBC while Justin is finishing up in December. Please pray for Emily to adjust to life in the States and for Justin a ministry opportunity as he graduates in December.
We have been taking advantage of being in the States and visited 16 churches in 8 weeks and will return to El Salvador in October.
