Rogers Family News Update

LOOKING LIKE THE COMMUNITY:
A Christian couple looking for a church home started visiting our church a
few months ago and have become very interested in our ministry. The other
day they told me that they had visited several other churches in our area,
some big, some small like us. They said that one thing all the churches they
visited seemed to have in common was that one ethnic group or another
dominated every congregation. They said that none really ‘looked like our
community’, which is VERY multicultural. Our church is different, however.
As I mentioned before, we have folks attending from about 10 different
countries. This couple liked this fact and believe it shows that God is at
work in our church in a unique way. In our case it is literally true: If we
reach our community, we will reach the world!
FOR PRAISE & PRAYER:
* When Jeff Wang was baptized he brought about a dozen of his friends to
witness the event and to hear his public testimony. Two Chinese men that
came that day have continued to attend and are listening attentively to the
Word of God. Please PRAY for Sean and Kevin.
* I had previously written concerning Tony, the young Vietnamese man who is
in prison. Tony is now leading a Bible study of 5-10 people within the
prison. PRAY for his effectiveness and for his safety.
* God continues to add to our youth group, PRAISE the Lord. It is strange,
however. We have all boys and no girls! I used to think that you needed to
start with boys, but now I wonder if it is the other way around? If we had
all teenage girls, how long before boys started showing up? Please PRAY for
the salvation of Jerry, Leomar, Charles, and Brian.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
This is at least the 16th holiday season that we have celebrated in
partnership with most of you. Every year we are reminded of how faithful you
have been to our family in prayer and giving. This year is no different. We
are so thankful for each of you and remind you that each precious soul saved
by this ministry, each life changed, was reached in part through your
sacrifice of love. We know you do without, so that they will not have to do
without Christ. May God prosper each of you this season and grant each of
you a blessed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
