Prayer Letter
January - March 2008

Dear  Friends,

Time: We feel the time has come to make ourselves available to you to report in visits or missions conferences on the work you are supporting here in the Guadalajara area. As of January, 2009, we will be ready to report to you in person. Between now and then you can contact us by e-mail or by telephone, both of which can be found on our home page.
You have been so faithful in supporting us and taking good care of us. We are looking forward to the day we can personally thank you.

2007 Review: Living Word Baptist Church had a fantastic financial year. They were able to repay fifty thousand two hundred seventy-seven dollars on the loan we took out to buy the land and building. Better yet, by the end of March of this year (2008) the church will be debt free! PraIse the Lord! In five years the total debt of one hundred eighty-five thousand dollars will have been paid in full. Glory to His name!
In 2007, a total of fifty-seven people made professions of faith. Of these, we baptized thirty-four. We also had thirteen other additions to the church. We attempted to start a new work in the city of Tepatitlan, but it did not work out. Living Word Baptist now has five deacons who are growing and progressing. All five are lay preachers and one, Bro. Hector Diaz, has been named co-pastor and will lead the church next year during our absence. We are trusting the Lord will bless and guide. I do not plan to reassume the pastorate upon returning. I plan to start new works with Timothys out of this church.
I do not ask the other churches in the area to report to me. They are independent with their own national pastors and all of them are moving forward with their programs as God leads them.
Again, we appreciate your support. All that is accomplished is fruit unto your account. God bless you all.

'Til Jesus Comes,

Lonnie C. Smith, Jr.
