Prayer Letter
September - October 2007

Dear  Friends,

Greetings in the name of our Lord. We wish to express our gratitude for the many years you have faithfully supported us.

Pastor Mark Bohman - In August, we were happy to receive into our home this supporting pastor from Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. He and his son stayed a week and saw part of the work and met a lot of people. God blessed his message and 4 people accepted Christ the Sunday he spoke. We appreciate this pastor and his church.

Ramiro Jaimes Reza - When Ramiro was a boy living in the hills of the state of Morelos, some missionaries visited his parent's home. It is possible he made a profession of faith as a child, but he moved away to the big city and doesn't remember. He married and he and his wife have a 17 year old daughter and a 15 year old son. I began witnessing to him every time he delivered water to the church, but he would say: "I have some problems to work out in my life and someday I will visit your church. My wife is very Catholic and it will take some doing and some time."

Well, they came, they got saved, they got baptized and they are faithful in church. Bro Ramiro is now a deacon and has preached 3 very good and simple messages. He. his wife, and children are all actively involved in the church and I expect him to someday preach fulltime.

His dear mother, who still lives in the Indian village in Morelos, wept for joy when she heard about her son and his family. She praises the Lord and says that when she gets to heaven, she's gonna hug our necks!

Bro. Antonio Orozco - It breaks my heart to write that Bro. Antonio who pastored Upper Room Baptist Church has committed adultery; abandoned the church, his wife and family; and has fled to California. His son, Fabian, who graduated from Bible School last year, has taken over the church and last month, he baptized 11 people. Please pray for them.

Living Word Baptist Church - We rejoice to report to you 11 people have made professions of faith since we last wrote you and 8 have already followed the Lord in baptism.

Once again, thank you for your prayers and support.

'Til Jesus Comes,

Lonnie C. Smith, Jr.
