Prayer Letter
Dear Friends in Christ,
The annual Pastor¹s
Retreat Fellowship of 2008 was celebrated in a youth camp just south of
Monterrey near Montemorelos the week after Easter Sunday.
The attendance was
excellent with over 120 pastors and missionaries attending with their family.
The attendance in the night services was between 500 and 600. Several decisions
were made. One couple was presented to the mission committee as missionaries to
yet another indigenous Indian tribe in the state of San Luis Posoti. They should
be approved in the November meeting. Our pastor Angel Zapata was named as
mission director for the mission committee of BBF de M. Pray for him and the
labor of these brethren.
Praise God from whom all
blessings flow! We are happy to report that God has already supplied all the
financial help needed for the materials for 90 DVBS. Part of the books have
arrived, but we are waiting another shipment in order to be able to divide all
into packets for ninety different DVBS schools. The pastors and students will be
doing the teaching and please pray that we will have another great number of
souls saved this year. We have learned from passed years that for every dollar
invested in DVBS we have seen one or more soul saved. May it be so again this
year. Thank you who have sent this year and your reward will be great.
March 24 we received word
that Bill Wade, son of our lifelong friends Dr. R.D. and Evea Wade had gone home
to be with the Lord. He was just 51 years old. It was sudden and unexpected and
he will be missed. We were privileged to accompany them in their sorrow. Pray
for this dear family.
Beloved, once again we
are so thankful for your prayers and financial help toward our ministry. God
continues to bless our efforts and those of the Mexican pastors who are carrying
on the daily work. We are happy that God allows us to have a part in His work.
Yours for Souls in Mexico,
Lonnie & Margie Smith
