Prayer Letter
January
2010

Dear Pastor and friends,

We had a great year last year with numerous decisions for the Lord and other fruit, much of which still remains! Looking back the biggest harvest was during the VBS, but the special meetings with evangelist Alfonso Alvizo also was a huge blessing to our church.

PETCANCHE
One of the biggest blessings is to see the folks themselves involved in winning others to Christ. Wilma, one of our most faithful ladies, led a distant relative to the Lord about 3 weeks ago and discipleship lessons are underway. Please pray for Matilde and her spiritual growth as a new believer.
Sometimes it is the hunger from the new believers that creates a renewed dedication in the older ones!

PLEASE PRAY!
Just last week the church’s neighbor approached us with the idea of selling us his house. This would be a HUGE blessing to our church as we have very limited space. Please pray that the Lord guides in the situation. No price has been mentioned, but we are hopeful he will be reasonable.

TAHDZIBICHEN
We celebrated the 10th anniversary of this mission work on January 3. With the coming of this anniversary, we all decided it was time to proceed with an organizational service, in essence cutting them loose to stand on their own.

On January 3, 2010, the Iglesia Bautista el Cordero de Dios (Lamb of God Baptist Church) was formally established as an independent and autonomous church.
These moments are treasured in the life of any congregation or missionary. Please keep Lupe in your prayers.

Thanks again for your part in the ministry here in Yucatan.

Your friend,
Richard L. Smith
