Prayer Letter

January/February 2008

Dear Friends,

Our year started off with a bang! Firecrackers were going off all over the village. You can buy them cheap from Guatemala and smuggle them in. The rains have finally stopped and the mud is now being replaced by dust, and the heat is on. But I love every minute of it. This is my favorite time of year. It is in this time of the year, when the ground is dry enough to be able to begin our construction projects. That gives us about 3 months to get the projects finished.

We were so thankful to have a medical mission's team come to the Valley Baptist Church in February and treat over 160 people. They also had an ophthalmologist with the team and were able to give out over 40 pair of glasses. What a blessing to our people. Our prayers are that the medical team is able to bring a dentist in the future.

The feeding center is going well with 45 children being fed daily. The children are slow at accepting changes, especially food, so we try new things every other week. We tried cooked carrots, if they have them they are usually raw, so when they picked them up with their fingers, they looked up in surprise and said, "they're hot!" They loved them, so, so far so good!

Ismael, our pastor in training is preaching more and more now and doing a great job. Our people are being saved and lives are being changed. Thank you so much for your prayers, encouragement, and support. We love you and are forever mindful that we could not do what God has called us to do ... without you.

All for Him,
