November 2011 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends In Christ:

This pasted month our good friends AL & JODIE WILLIAMS, from Texoma Piano Co., in southern Oklahoma delivered another SIX pianos for the churches of Old Mexico. We have lost count of just how many they have donated to the work, but it is over 40. Among those who received one of the pianos are the daughter and son-in-law of OBERLIN AGUIRRE, who now has a church in Reynosa. Oberlin was saved under our early ministry in Monterrey and after Bible Collage established a church in Victoria, Mexico. He is still serving our Lord.
Also we are thankful to Bro. Angel Zapata who is pastor of our First BB church in Reynosa for his help in getting these pianos into Mexico and to the churches where they are needed. Last month we asked you to pray with them for a needed 15-passenger van for the work in Reynosa and surrounding area. If you can help us find a van, either donated or at a reasonable price, please let us know.
The second week of November the pastors and workers of the BBF of Mexico will meet at Highland Youth camp in southern Mexico - The Rawlings youth camp. It will be a time of fellowship and the Spiritual uplift of messengers from all over Mexico. Also it will be a time of raising the mission offering for the twenty Mexico missionary projects. Please make this a matter of prayer. As you know travel in Mexico is not safe, and the drug cartel are everywhere. Pray for the safety of the pastors as well as for the meeting.
Our heart and prayers go to the family of DON BROWN and MARVIN HOOGE who have been called by our Lord to their eternal rest. Don surrendered to the Mission Field while I was preaching a conference at Freeway Baptist, Bro. Jack Bridges. Marvin has been a dear friend and fellow laborer in Mexico for many years. Please pray for the family of each of these servant of the Lord. May God give grace and comfort in this time of need.
Beloved we are ever mindful of your sacrifices on our behalf. We do so appreciate your prayers and your financial help that enables us to continue to labor here in Old Mexico. God has seen fit to continue to use us and we are grateful to serve.

Yours for souls in Mexico,
Lonnie & Margie Smith

Saturday morning a memorial service was conducted at Primera Iglesia Bautista of Hidalgo, Tx. to celebrate the life of missionary MARVIN HOOGE. Steve Bender, Eddie Lyons, Gary Wilson and various pastors and missionaries from Mexico were in attendance, as was the family. His ministry will continue. He was working with this church and the church in Miguel Aleman, Tamps. Mex.
