December 2011 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends In Christ:

Truly there is much to be thankful for in this past month. We were privileged to have Thanksgiving dinner with our son Ronnie and his Family. Lou Ann is a great cook. She prepared the traditional turkey and ham dinner, with all the trimmings. Lonnie Jr. & Martha were back in Guadalajara.
The week of November 14-17 the BBF of Mexico (CBBM) celebrated their annual national Fellowship meeting at Rawlings Highlands Youth Camp in Southern Mexico. Over 450 Pastors and workers from all over Mexico were able to attend the meeting by making the trip in rented busses. (All arrived and returned safely) There were nineteen speakers using 2 Tim. 3:1-5 as their text who expounded the Word of God. President Moises Salazar, pastor in Cd. Mante and the same officials were in charge for their second year of service.
The high light of the meeting was when Bro. Alejandro Velazquez G. brought a message on Faith Promise Mission Giving. Over 162 churches responded with a promise of over $400,000.00 pesos per month for the work of the Lord through the CBBM. (The exchange: About $12.00 pesos to $1.00 dollar.)
Three new mission projects were approved at this meeting: Ediberto Hermandez and family were approved for work in Afghanistan. Alfonso Alvizo and family were approved for work in Spain. Lucio Marquez and family were approved to work among an indigenous tribe in Colima, Mexico. Nine other missionary projects are presently being supported. We all rejoice in these victories for our Lord and the work in Mexico.
Another blessing this month was being able to print another 1000 songbooks in Spanish for the churches in Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries. Also we printed another 10,000 tithing envelopes.
Beloved, we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Margie and I are in our 56th years of service in old Mexico as representatives of the BBFI and our Lord. Thank you so very much for your continued prayers and financial support. We believe we are making a difference.
Yours for souls in Mexico,
Lonnie & Margie Smith
