October 2012 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends In Christ:

Two of our pastors from Reynosa Mexico, ANGEL ZAPATA & ELISEO DELGADO will depart from McAllen International Airport the 6th of October to attend the second Latin American Conference and Fellowship meeting which will be held in Colombia October 8-11 with missionaries CRAIG LINGO & SCOTT HUDGINS. The Theme and challenge this year will be on “EXTREME MISSIONS”.

The first conference was conducted at Rawlings Highland Camp in southern Mexico two years ago. That meeting was well attended with over 600 pastors and workers from Mexico, Ecuador, Perú, Central American countries and Colombia and the USA. This conference is expected to surpass the first one.

For the past several weeks we have been very busy in our printing shop. We have printed 20,000 Spanish tithing envelopes and another 1000 Spanish songbooks. Since I am the only one doing the work it is quite an experience. Each book consists of 30 pages printed on both sides, making a total of 60,000 runs on the press. Then the 30,000 sheets have to be folded. The finished product is then taken to Canton Baptist Church where brother Eliseo Delgado and his family collate and staple them. Then it is brought back to our house to be trimmed on three sides and then boxed for distribution.

Bro. Angel Zapata is in charge of the distribution of this and other printed material to the pastors and churches. Each box weighs about 72 lbs.

Many of you will remember CALIXTO SEPULVEDA who was our first Mexican Pastor in Monterrey in 1960. (We had been in Tampico for the first 4 years). After helping establish over 20 churches 1960- 1973 he accepted a church in the USA and has been in the ministry for over 50 years. He now lives in South Texas. He called this month to share with us his 91st birthday.

Beloved we cannot express enough our love and appreciation for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support toward our ministry. But we do appreciate it very much. Our prayer is that God would continue to bless each and every one of you.

Yours for souls in Mexico,
Lonnie & Margie Smith
