PETCANCHE:
Things are going well at church with a number of people
saved recently and several baptized. Those saved include
Michelle and her father, Carlos. Carlos is 70 years old
and is recently separated from Michelle’s mother. We
appreciate your prayers for both of them as we see some
of the common struggles taking place for new Christians.
Others who have also recently been saved include
Javier, Edmundo, Sylvia and Karla. Those recently
baptized include Lenny, Mario, Javier and another Mario.
This Sunday, Lord willing, we will baptize Sylvia and
Edmundo.
While it would be impossible for you to put a face to
these names, the Lord certainly knows them and will
answer our prayers for them as they grow in the Lord.
There truly is no greater joy than to lead someone to
Christ!
We had a visit from Dagoberto Castañeda, a missionary
with the Mexico BBF who has been in Guatemala for some
time. After supporting him for a few years, it is good
to get to know him personally.
INSTITUTE CLASSES:
Georgia Webb has been here this week to teach a
course on the Temperaments and it has been very useful
to the students. We hope to have her back soon for a
followup course. |
C.B.B.M.:
These initials stand for the Mexico BBF and it was our
privilege to participate in the recent meeting in Cd.
Juárez just across from El Paso, TX. The best part of
the trip was being able to see my brother, Leonard, who
drove several hundred miles to be there. It was the
first time for both of us to be together at a meeting of
the CBBM in about 20 years.
REYES: The new work is getting off to a
slow start. Please pray for Luis and Geny as they put
their time and effort here.
OTHER NEWS: We appreciate your continued
prayers for Lupe in Tahdzibichén, Lucas in Motul, and
Armando in Tahdibichén pueblo. While the church in Motul
is totally autonomous Lucas is still a student in the
institute and in need of prayer as much as any of us.
FAMILY: Our son, Isaac, and Tabitha DeMoss
will be getting married on December 22 in Michigan. This
is another joyful event and we appreciate your prayers
for them as they start a new life together.
Your friend,

Richard L. Smith
